Love figs, but recently I have been looking for an alternative way to eat them, maybe mixing them with some other ingredients in order to enhance its natural flavor. I think this recipe totally gets the point, plus it is a really nice healthy snack to offer when you have visits coming over, it is like offering sweet little healthy candies.
- Mix 15 figs, 1 grounded aniseed teaspoon, a little bit of black pepper, and a cinnamon teaspoon, and grind it altogether in a food processor.
- Then we’ll shape rounded balls (2-3 cm diameter) with the dough.
- Spread some sesame seeds in a container and gently cover the balls with the seeds. It will be easy since the resulting dough is kind of sticky, so the sesame seed will stick on the balls in a simple way, plus this topping will help us not to soil our fingers when taking the balls.
Now it’s just time to serve them in a beautiful bowl and start eating 🙂
Figs are high content in fiber and calcium. Also they are one of the richest selenium foods. With lots of vitamins (A, C, E, B), minerals (potassium, phosphorus, magnesium…), flavonoids, this figs balls are a very healthy and energetic snack to have or to take with us and enjoy in any moment. Plus they are really yummy!
