In summer, I was lucky to travel to Saint Michael’s Mount, in the french region of Normandy, and didn’t want to miss the chance to talk about my experience since it is a really wonderful, magic place.
Saint Michael’s Mount is located in a unique emplacement since the only way to access it is through a road that links it to the continent. Throughout centuries, the only accessible way to reach the Mont was by feet when the tide was low enough and by boat with high tide.
Besides, a beautiful 11th century abbey crowns the top of the hill. It is kind of hard to walk to reach the top, but it is totally worth it: you will get speechless views from the courtyard or rooms.
I spent the night in a beautiful hotel in Saint-Michel and had the chance to enjoy the place when the number of visitors and tourists decrease considerably in the evening. It is delightful to walk through its narrow steep streets and get lost in the stairways during the night.
During the day we can admire the beautiful medieval architecture, walk in little lovely handicraft shops and enjoy the very typical galletes and tasty cider in any of its many french food restaurants. To conclude,Saint Michael’s Mount is a charming place, full of History and legends, unique concerning to architecture, urbanism and location, and where you can feel an amazing energy.
No wonderSaint Michael’s Mount is an area declared a World Heritage Site, as well as the bay and the antique Moidrey Mill.
